at the Barn Pottery, North Bovey Road, Moretonhampstead, Devon, UK

This event will be free of charge with the emphasis placed on the sale of pots. There will be a quality catalogue to record the exhibition. This will be on sale for £15.

Participants:

Nic Collins - UK is known for his throwing skills, kiln building, and firing. Nic will demonstrate throwing large bottle forms.

Svend Bayer - UK is a world-renowned wood firing potter who specializes in very large pots. Svend has also attended many similar events worldwide.
He will be demonstrating coil-throwing methods.

Chuck Schwartz - UK specializes in firebox and charcoal firing which is a precarious procedure but can produce spectacular results.
He will be talking about this firing method and will also be demonstrating special throwing techniques were pots are thrown off of a large cone of clay, rather than from individual lumps of clay.

Robert Barron - Australia will be demonstrating his throwing and glazing techniques. He has a strong relationship with his British roots, but also has had a great influence from Australia's neighbour Japan giving a rich and inspiring mix of eastern and western approaches to the craft.

Markus Rusch - Germany will be demonstrating throwing and making techniques. Markus has been greatly influenced by Patrick Sargent who he worked with as a student and also by the dark black ware of his local area. He will be talking and showing his great enthusiasm in Germanys historical importance with wood fired salt glazing.

Nicolas Rousseau - France A traditional historical area for wood fired stoneware. Nicolas will be demonstrating his delightful playfulness in the making of his unusual contemporary works. His slide show will be about his training and influences of these pieces of work.
